Setting lines for Clarity and speed

6 spots available

12/18/2020

5:30 - 8:00 PM

Ever notice the dogs that look the fastest don't always have the fastest time? Set up your dog for success by clearly signaling turn location, as well as acceleration, deceleration. Sometimes the tightest line is hard to beat, sometimes it is not the fastest. We'll look at how to create fast, smooth paths for the dog that help with discriminations, help the dog leave bars up, and improve times.

STAY ON COURSE AND GO FASTER

6 spots available

12/19/2020

9:00 - 11:30 AM

Off course errors are common in agility. Learn how to not only keep your dog on the correct course, but how to get the most speed out of your dog. In this workshop, teams will work on correct timing to provide clear information sooner to the dog, allowing the dog to run faster with more confidence.

VERBAL SKILLS FOR CLARITY AND PRECISION

6 spots available

12/19/2020

12:30 - 3:00 PM

Every team can benefit from the additional clarity verbal cues provide. We'll look at how to create strong, clear verbal signals for the dogs, how to proof them, and when/where to use them to get the most benefit.

BEGINNING HANDLING

5 spots available

12/19/2020

3:30 - 6:00 PM

This workshop is for teams who are just starting to sequence obstacles. We'll look at how to signal a line of obstacles rather than "one at a time" handling. We'll focus on getting the dogs running and having fun, and look at how to practice with rewards off our body and out of the ring so the dogs are preparing for the show environment.

MASTERS HANDLING

6 spots available

12/20/2020

9:00 - 11:30 AM

This mini seminar will focus on handling options on a masters style (jumpers) course. Teams are expected to already be showing in upper levels of agility.

INTERNATIONAL HANDLING

5 spots available

12/20/2020

12:30 - 3:00 PM

Teams will navigate an international style (jumpers) course in this mini-seminar. Dogs and handlers will practice backside approaches, handler restrictions, tricky weave entries, and evaluate handling choices strategically.
