Happy Dog Sports was established by Maggie Schoolar in 2018 and focuses on fun dog training and handling options. Maggie and her dogs have trained under some of the top competitors in the world and always have fun training and competing. Maggie is currently focused on international handling and recently competed at the AKC World Team Try-outs and AKC European Open Try-outs with her poodle Cher.

Friday, January 15th
Weaves and Contacts

This 2 hour mini workshop will concentrate on proper execution and maintenance of contact performance.  Teams will work all contacts as well as weaves and proof each skill to ensure the dogs understanding.  You will walk away from this seminar with plenty of ideas to keep improving on these areas! Dogs should be able to do contacts and 6 weaves.  
Saturday, January 16th
Foundations for speed and distance

This four hour session provides dogs with lots of fun and is easy for the handler to follow. Teams will be presented with handling options for confident and independent performance. Dogs should be able to do basic sequencing with low jumps and tunnels. This is a perfect seminar for young dogs or teams who want to increase speed! This workshop will only use jumps and tunnels. 
Masters Handling Seminar
1-5 pm

These four hour monthly sessions focus on building confidence for the dog and the handler to create faster more accurate performance. Course work is designed to set the dogs line by incorporating different types of Blind Crosses and consistent verbals. These sessions are adapted to be appropriate for most skill levels. As the seminars progress, more complex International level handling is incorporated. Many handlers work two dogs during these sessions. Three hours of work time and one hour of discussion.

International Seminar

This four hour session is focused on the challenges of International/Premier courses. Breaking down the training elements needed to be successful while incorporating distance and independent performance. Dogs should be performing to a Masters level. Three hours of work time and one hour of discussion.
