Animals have been a part of Nisa’s life for as long as she can remember. In 2014 she began fostering for her local shelter and rescues. In 2015 she accepted a position as a shelter kennel technician and became enthralled with canine behavior and development. While in school at the University of Texas at Austin, Nisa studied animal behavior topics before graduating with a BA in Anthropology.

In 2018 Nisa began her career as a professional dog trainer. She is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CBDC) through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. She is also a Fear Free Certified Professional (FFCP) through the Fear Free Pets Animal Trainer Certification Program.

In 2020 Nisa began to pursue her MSc degree in Applied Animal Behavior and Welfare. She is a self-proclaimed "dog nerd" and continues to further education through the lastest accredited articles, books, conferences, seminars, and more. She's passionate about applying canine science to help dogs and their people live their best lives together. Nisa shares her life with her two dogs, Hari and Habit, who are as addicted to training as she is. Together they train for/compete in a variety of dog sports and enjoy spending as much time as possible outdoors.
