About Grace!

Grace Heck aspires to help each team reach their fullest potential through a focus on solid foundational skills, understanding each dog's motivators, and an eye for precision and clarity in dog - human interactions. To accomplish this, she uses positive reinforcement based methods, and detailed explanations of the "why" behind each training scenario.

MASTERS COURSEWORK

Friday, August 8th
8:30 am - 12:30 pm

Teams will be presented with coursework and jump combinations frequently seen at the masters level of agility.

  • Pre-requisites: Dogs must be training or competing at masters level

DISTANCE SKILLS

Friday, August 8th
1:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Polish & refine your dog's understanding and effectiveness of distance work on course. We will just be using jumps and tunnels for this seminar.

AGILITY FUNdamentals

Saturday, August 9th
9 am - 12:30 pm

Have a blast teaching amazing foundation games to your pup! These games are age-appropriate, motivational, incredibly useful, and SO MUCH FUN! This seminar is age appropriate for puppies 3 - 12 months who are working towards becoming adult canine athletes.

  • Pre-requisites: Dogs must have completed either a basic manners, puppy or agility foundation class prior to this seminar

NOVICE SEQUENCING

Saturday, August 9th
1:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Introduce your pup to the basics of sequencing with age appropriate challenges in this fun workshop!  We'll work on driving a line, front crosses, blind crosses and rear crosses with short sequences of 4-6 obstacles.  Only jumps and tunnels will be used.  Dogs must be at least 8 months and have completed foundations training.

  • Pre-requisites: Dogs must be able to complete simple coursework & have a basic understanding of sequencing

SPEED + MOTIVATION + CONFIDENCE

Sunday, August 10th
9 am - 1 pm

Coursework specifically designed to help build confidence and speed in young and experienced dogs alike.  Instruction will focus on handler's clarity and communication, while incorporating rewards to build obstacle independence and confidence.  Sequences will be adjusted to each team's level, and turns may be short and sweet to prevent "over drilling".  Teams should have some knowledge of all obstacles, although may still be building certain obstacle skills.

  • Pre-requisites: Dogs must be able to complete simple coursework & have a basic understanding of sequencing  (jumps and tunnels only)

ELITE COURSEWORK

Sunday, August 10th
2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Challenge yourself on these international style sequences! If you are interested in UKI, ISC or AKC Premier this is the workshop for you. Instruction will focus on finding the fastest line for your dog, then fitting the handling options to that line. Skills may include forced layers, backside skills, threadles (wraps and slices), extreme commitment & distance challenges, and more. We’ll break down and train skills as necessary.

  • Pre-requisites: Dogs must be proficient in all obstacles

ADVANCED SEQUENCING +plus

Monday, August 11th
9:00 am - 12:30 pm

This workshop will focus on novice type sequences with a masters level twist! We will reinforce those skills the dog knows while we train and introduce those upper level skills. This workshop is meant to challenge you, but not overwhelm you!

  • Pre-requisites: Dogs must be able to complete simple coursework & have a basic understanding of sequencing (training at a novice level)

MASTERS SEQUENCING +plus

Monday, August 11th
1:30 pm - 5:00 pm

This workshop will focus on masters type sequences with an international level twist! We will reinforce those skills the dog knows while we train and introduce those upper level skills to start getting your team ready for UKI, Premier or USDAA. This workshop is meant to challenge you, but not overwhelm you!
