About Grace

Grace Heck aspires to help each team reach their fullest potential through a focus on solid foundational skills, understanding each dog's motivators, and an eye for precision and clarity in dog - human interactions. To accomplish this, she uses positive reinforcement based methods, and detailed explanations of the "why" behind each training scenario. Grace is currently competing at the Masters level in multiple venues with her Mixed Breed PACH Riley, Border Collie Finnick, and Sheltie Burst.  Grace and Fin have also travelled the world together, competing in the Fionia cup in Denmark (2019), and were named to the 2020 Americas y Caribbe Team USA.

Payment, Deposit and Refund Information

  • A deposit of 25% of the seminar is required to hold your spot. 

  • Full payment for the seminar is due by the hard closing date of the seminar. 

  • A cancellation fee of $10 for each seminar spot will be applied if cancelling between the soft closing date and the hard closing date. 

  • A full refund will be given any time before the soft closing date.

  • NO REFUNDS will be given after the hard closing date (11:59 pm of the closing date). 

  • Refunds are completely up to the discretion of the seminar host - in certain cases of illness, death, acts of God, etc. full or partial refunds may be given on the day of the seminar in form of account credit, cash, PayPal, etc.  

  • We will allow payments to be made in small increments up to the hard closing date. 

  • Spots may be sold/given to friends if a participant cannot come and the payment will be the responsibility of the original participant.

Whether you are struggling with independent weave pole performance, or want to start your pup off on the right foot, this class will build your dog's confidence and drive through the weave poles. Exercises will focus on finding entries, executing poles at speed, and continuing independently.

Get trial and ring ready! Games to get you out of your comfort zone and put the pressure on! Seminar will focus less on how to handle/what handling you're doing and more on recreating trial stress, and that competitive atmosphere. Appropriate for any team that is competition ready. Expect to need to do any of the obstacles in sequence without rewarding.

Handling 101

This workshop is perfect for totally novice handlers, or more experienced folks who want a more systematic approach to handling. We'll review foundational concepts about the dog's line, visualizing it, and breaking down handler's impact on the line. We'll also get extremely detailed into the 3 most common crosses (fronts, blinds, rears), how to know where they go, and how to execute them.  Although there will be no dogs, participants should still expect to work!  They'll be up on their feet, out on the floor engaging in activities so that they can get the feel for these skills. Handler exercises will be structured according to the latest neuro-scientifically backed protocols to accelerate learning and mastery of new skills. This is going to be like no other seminar out there!

Novice Sequencing

Have a blast teaching amazing foundation games to your pup! These games are age-appropriate, motivational, incredibly useful, and SO MUCH FUN!  This seminar is age appropriate for puppies 3 - 12 months who are working towards becoming adult canine athletes.  Older dogs are welcome that are in the beginning stages of learning agility. No previous knowledge or skill is required.
