Serpentines

more than jumps

coach: Lora Raycroft

Saturday, October 25th 10 am - 2 pm

10/10 working spots available

unlimited audit spots

open to all dogs of all levels

Tired of holding your breath and micromanaging every step through a serpentine? You're not alone! While the 3-jump serpentine is a classic jump combo, and generally what we think of, serpentines are so much more. They are a fundamental handling skill that appears everywhere on course—from tricky spacing between obstacles to complex sequences that require absolute precision.

This workshop is designed to move you beyond just "getting through it." We will deconstruct the serpentine to build a toolbox of skills that will make you and your dog a confident, seamless team.

In this workshop, you will learn how to:

  • SEE THE SIGNS: Learn to instantly recognize the required lead changes from both you and your dog, and understand why they are necessary for success.

  • COMMUNICATE WITH CLARITY: Move beyond "babysitting" the line of jumps. Learn precise cues for collection, extension, and turns that give your dog the information they need before the jump, not at it.

  • GET AHEAD OF THE GAME: Develop the footwork and timing to get into position early, setting your dog up for a smooth and efficient path instead of reacting to them late.

  • CONQUER ANY SCENARIO: We'll practice drills for all the variations you'll see on course: serpentines with spreads, tunnels, weaves, and different spacing. Learn how to handle a serpentine that starts, ends, or is interrupted in the middle of a larger sequence.

This workshop is perfect for you if:

  • You hold your breath and pray during serpentines.

  • You feel like you're constantly running behind your dog.

  • You want to understand the "why" behind the handling, not just the "what."

  • You see serpentines on course and want to attack them with confidence, not dread.

  • You have a young dog and want to learn how to teach serpentine drills

Stop fearing the serpentine and start using it as a powerful tool to showcase your teamwork and speed. Let's build your confidence to handle any serpentine, anytime, anyplace!

Essential Crosses

breaking down front, rear and blind crosses

coach: Lora Raycroft

Saturday, October 18th 10 am - 1 pm

9/10 working spots available

unlimited audit spots

open to all dogs of all levels

Are your front crosses messy? Are your rear crosses late? Not sure when to use a blind cross?

This workshop is designed to clarify, clean up, and simplify the three core crosses. We'll break down each one to its basics:

  • What it is: The essential mechanics and footwork.

  • When to use it: The perfect timing and placement for maximum effect.

  • How to practice it: Short, focused sequences to build muscle memory and confidence.

Move from confused to confident as we apply these polished skills to common sequences like pinwheels and 180s. Leave with a clearer understanding of how to communicate efficiently with your dog on course.
