Does your dog dart off in every direction the moment they get an ounce of freedom? This advanced obedience class is the solution. We'll teach your canine companion to focus on you and consistently return when called, even when fun distractions abound.
Through positive reinforcement, dogs will master cues to turn their attention to you instead of squirrels, other dogs, or intriguing smells. The class also offers essential skills for dogs partaking in agility, flyball, and other dog sports where straying is forbidden. We’ll dial up the distractions to proof their training for when they want to wander in competition.
Sign up now, practice the homework lesson frequently, and soon you’ll confidently unleash your dog, knowing they'll turn on cue and sprint back to you - no matter how exciting the temptation.
Items needed: Please bring a 10-12 foot long line in addition to your shorter leash to class!

competition novice obedience

Thursdays, 6:30 pm - 7:25 pm
Instructor: Judy Ramsey
This class is focused on teaching skills needed to successfully compete in AKC Beginner Novice and Novice Obedience. Teams will focus on creating a clear understanding of what is required for the Novice Obedience class! Figure 8 drills, heeling games and sit/down stay skills are some of the things that we will be learning and perfecting. Skills are taught in a positive reinforcement based approach to not only create accuracy with these skills, but the drive and happiness to do them!
In this class we really focus on perfecting skills needed for competition obedience. Perhaps you have goals of showing, or maybe you just want to give it a try and build your teamwork with your dog! Either way, all are welcome!
